I have spent my life with books. First as a voracious reader, then as a student of England language and Literature at Queen Mary College, London University and then a career as an editor in the world of publishing. Later, with my partner, I set up an independent publishing house, The Windrush Press which enjoyed some success from 1987 until it was sold in 2000. It specialised in cultural travel titles notably the Traveller’s History series, military history and local poetry and art.
I moved to the country full time in 1988 and brought up my three sons in the village and had an office in nearby Moreton in Marsh and then later worked from my home in Adlestrop. I have co-written with Geoffrey Smith a guide book: World Heritage Sites of Great Britain & Ireland which was published in 2009 in both the UK and America and has recently been translated into Chinese. Now I am semi-retired and looking for my next project.
